ABOUT CASHMERE

 

Cashmere, the fiber of kings, has long been one of the most prized and luxurious fibers to be found. 

Cashmere is known for its amazing warmth, light-weight insulation without the bulk and luxurious softness.  This valuable material comes from the soft undercoat of the Kashmir goat, and serves as their protection from the cold mountain winter temperatures and high altitude.  The down is removed by hand with a coarse comb duing molting season in the spring, when the animals naturally shed their winter coat.   Appropriate for all climates, a high moisture content allows insulation properties to change with the relative humidity in the air.  In essence, cashmere is the perfect material for any season.

Hummingbird Lane cashmere is imported and originates from the highest plateaus of Inner Mongolia.  Each cashmere baby blanket is meticulously designed using the highest quality pure cashmere.   Unrivaled quality and craftsmanship enable us to offer our adorable designs for newborns, toddlers and kids with great pleasure and confidence.

 

Our designs exude a simple sense of style, luxury, charm and comfort.  Of heirloom quality, each piece is completely knit, outlined with exquisite details, reversible and finished with a special crocheted scallop trim.  Both sides of the blanket are luxuriously 2 ply and 12gg knit.   26 x 35

 

Hummingbird Lane uses pure virgin cashmere which is dyed using Eco-friendly Swiss dyes and spun into beautiful yarn used to knit our 100% cashmere baby blankets.

 

All blankets are ready to ship.  Each blanket is elegantly gift wrapped in tissue paper, a classic white box and tied with pink, blue or cream satin ribbon.

 

 

 

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

 

All of our blankets are knit.  Knit cashmere can be hand-washed with cold water and fine washable soap for best results.  Knit cashmere can also be machine washed in cold water on Delicate Cycle.  Lay flat to dry.  Never put a cashmere garment in a dryer.  Do not hang on hangers.  Properly clean and store in a dry, cool area when not in use.
